The Greater Dayton Ultrasound Society started its humble beginnings in 1984 with only 10 members and was at that time known as The Vascular Society of Dayton, whose aim is to provide continuing medical education to ultrasound enthusiasts in the local setting. Meetings were held every other month in different places, starting with Grandview Hospital, In time, the organization has gained reputation and has acquired more membership.

Presently, the society has about 200 members, of which about 150 are listed active. The meetings are currently held at the Dean Amphitheater, Kettering Medical Center, 3535 Southern Blvd., Kettering, Ohio45429. The meetings are scheduled between Fall and Spring, and are usually held on the 4th Monday of the month, at 6 PM. Parking passes and snacks are provided for registered attendees at no extra cost.

The GDUS is affiliated with the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and is authorized to award up to 12 CME credits a year to attendees.
